- "It's finally here!" it proclaims.
- The full page ads for an application under the brandname LinkIt! carried
- by Amazing Amiga in their last few issues promises all types of file transfer
- in Serial and Parallel between an Amiga and PC that also will "Perform file
- conversion as you transfer!" and it further states that it "Includes 6 foot
- parallel cable.".
- Too good to be true?
- Well I bought one direct from it's originators:"LEGENDARY design TECHNOLOGIES"
- for US $ 59.95 back at the beginning of March.
- What I got in the mail from them was what they call a "Special Version" that
- cannot connect to Parallel ports and with their "FREE" Serial cable was only
- able to slowly transfer some small files from the Amiga to the PC but not
- from the PC to the Amiga.
- On their Registration Card they ask you to: "Send in this card to receive
- your FREE PARALLEL CABLE" and then in small print "When available".
- My e-mail inquiries were answered by a Syd Bolton who said they will mail
- me their latest software update which he said will "solve some" of my
- "problems".
- Ten days later I have not received anything.
- And I discovered that "file conversion as you transfer" really only means
- three or four very basic formats that don't even include GIF's or JPEG's.
-
- I am only posting this in order to warn other potential buyers and to
- express my concern about the kind of advertisers the last U.S. based
- Amiga publication attracts.
- ANY ADVICE??
- Still hoping for a better Amiga future, dzander
